Merry began dancing in 2014, starting with Jazz Funk during the height of second generation K-pop. Through those early classes, she was introduced to the foundations of both Jazz Funk and Waacking, two styles that continue to influence her movement today.

She spent several years training intensively in Waacking, joining one of China’s top multidisciplinary teams, where she worked as a full-time dancer and instructor from 2016 to 2022. Her style is dynamic and power-driven, with a strong emphasis on arm structure, clean lines, and musicality shaped by her Waacking background and passion for choreography.

Merry’s choreography is rooted in Jazz Funk and often incorporates K-pop and popular music, with occasional influences from Afropop. In her classes, she encourages students to explore body control, enjoy the process, and connect deeply with the music in a supportive, uplifting space.
